Design dramaturgy - a full or half day workshop for small theatre companies at the early drafts stage of a new piece. Companies may be exploring how to work with a designer for the first time, or how the design process might inform their way of working. The session culminates in drawing up a brief for the way they might like to approach working with a designer in the future.
'we haven't managed to work before in the way you were leading us...moving ideas around, creating the physical space...with reference to objects and generally letting ideas grow from those roots...a marvellous connection'

An introduction to design - this can be delivered as a one-off workshop or as a series which explores model-making and scale, research, costume via character and storyboarding. These workshops can be tailored to a variety of abilities and age ranges. Fiona is currently using some of these scenographic elements in workshops with community groups to explore ideas around ownership of space.
