Fiona trained with Motley at the Almeida.
She enjoys exploring the relationship between existing architecture and the designed space, unlocking the hidden dynamics within traditional and non-traditional theatre spaces to find the strongest points of exchange between performer and audience.
In both contemporary and classic performance, she responds to each writers' unique use of language, endeavouring to design environments that offer directors and actors space to explore.

For the Traverse : East Coast Chicken Supper by Martin J Taylor, Dark Earth by David Harrower, Outlying Islands by David Greig, (all for the Edinburgh Festival), The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek by Naomi Wallace, Highland Shorts (seven short plays by Scottish writers) and Heritage by Nicola McCartney, a body of work that explored the relationship between people and landscape.
Outlying Islands, won a Fringe First and a Herald Angel at the Edinburgh Festival before transferring to the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs at the Royal Court and the World Stages Festival, Toronto.
Opera credits include : Good Angel, Bad Angel (Hebrides Ensemble), La Traviata (Haddo House) Mavra, Riders to the Sea, Gianni Schicchi and La Pietra del Paragone for the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
Exhibitions : Collaborators : Design for Performance (Nottingham Trent and V&A Museum), 2D >3D (Sheffield Millenium Galleries and UK tour), Time + Space (RCA, London) and the Tron Theatre, Glasgow as part of UK City of Architecture and Design.
